A new position created by Dal's Faculty of Computer Science aims to build on the shared ambitions of Nova Scotia's ocean-tech players.

The annual Snowball Gala is a highly anticipated event for computer science students, faculty members, staff, and industry professionals. The evening highlights the achievements and inspiration within the computer science community, and this year鈥檚 event was no exception.

In an era where internet of things (IoT) devices鈥攆rom virtual assistants and smartphones to coffee makers and washing machines鈥攁re ubiquitous, data exhaust is particularly troublesome. Many IoT device users have no idea how much data is being generated, how it is being collected and what it is being used for. This comes with significant risks.
