Fountain School Administrative Officer Lesley Brechin (BA’90) didn’t set out to create a legacy at Dal, but she is doing exactly that. Her dedicated work and philanthropy to the Fountain School of Performing Arts is shaping cultural space on campus and in the community.

During his lifetime, the music of Austrian composor Franz Schubert was most often performed at small gatherings dubbed "Schubertiades." This weekend, students in Dal's Fountain School of Performing Arts will bring the Schubertiade into the 21st century with a special performance event in the community, aligned with Dal's 200th anniversary.

A Commerce alum might seem an unlikely author for a new piece of ÃÀÅ®×ö°® music. But with "The Eagle and Shield," a composition built on years of self-trained music experience, Paul St-Amand has crafted a celebratory anthem fitting for the university's bicentennial.

The 64th annual Student, Staff, Faculty and Alumni exhibition at the ÃÀÅ®×ö°® Art Gallery (which runs through January 28) showcases the hidden and not-so-hidden artistic talents that span the ÃÀÅ®×ö°® community.
