The City
Halifax was founded in 1749. It is the largest city in Atlantic Canada, with a population of 400,000, including 30,000 students. As a harbour city on the Atlantic Ocean, it has many layers: natural, historical, industrial, military, academic, governmental, commercial, residential, and recreational.
